Prior to founding the Whipple Law Office, LLC in 2017, Scott was a shareholder at Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, P.C., Oregon's second largest law firm. Subsequently, Scott continued he expertise in a small firm setting, representing businesses and individuals in many types of civil cases, including business litigation, commercial litigation, securities litigation and trade secrets litigation. Scott is well versed in the litigation process, representing plaintiffs and defendants in arbitration and in both federal and state courts in Oregon and Washington. In recognition of his professional achievement, including multiple successes at trial and in arbitration, since 2010 Scott’s peers have recognized him as a "Super Lawyer," a designation that is given to only to the top five percent of all lawyers in Oregon.
Scott Whipple is a native Oregonian who graduated from Sunset High School. Scott attended Grinnell College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics while playing both intercollegiate football and basketball (Scott was elected captain of both teams his Senior year). After graduating from Grinnell, Scott worked in the Chicago Loop in the Trust Department of American National Bank, a subsidiary of First Chicago. Upon returning to Portland, Scott worked as an underwriter for Standard Insurance Company until he entered law school at the University of Oregon. At law school, Scott earned the distinction of “Order of the Coif,” which is given to those students who graduate in the top ten percent (10%) of their class, while also working for the Oregon Department of Justice and conducting five criminal jury trials while a third-year law student. Scott began his career as a licensed lawyer in 1998 as an associate with Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt, PC, Oregon’s second largest law firm. Scott started his family with his wife LJ and was promoted to shareholder in 2006. In 2007, Scott co-founded a small firm and in 2017, Scott started Whipple Law Office, LLC in order to allow him to spend more time with his growing boys, who are active in school and sports. Currently, the Whipple Family is more than 80% complete of their quest to visit all 50 states by the end of 2020.
